Schools worker project launched PDF Print E-mail

After much prayer and discussion, the Heatons Churches Partnership agreed that the best way to move forward on the schools worker project would be if we could enter into a partnership with others to further the work.

We began discussions with the Christians in Schools Trust about working in a joint project. It was agreed that the Heatons Partnership would buy in Andrew Phillips for one day a week from September 2008. Andrew's role will be to continue to develop the work already ongoing in the schools. He will be supported and accountable to a management group set up by the Heatons Partnership.

This was launched and celebrated with a special commissioning service held at Heaton Moor Methodist Church on Sunday September 14th

The project is being financed by individual Christians and Churches in the Heatons.

Primary schools work - Background and vision PDF Print E-mail

The Heatons Churches Partnership has agreed to set up a project to extend the work that churches are already doing in the local Primary schools.

We are proposing to employ a schools worker so that we can support more schools and provide more resources to them. This would be funded partly by the churches but also by asking individuals if they would be prepared to commit to regular giving.

This will be an exciting new phase in our working together and expressing the churches’ commitment to the community where we live.
