The blessings of Christmas are tied to our response to the Christ Child, who Christians believe, was and is, Emmanuel, God with us.

Within the traditional Christmas story there are many responses. Some rejected the hope found within the Christ child, yet both the shepherds and the wise men recognised and came and

worshipped.

We invite you to come and worship Christ the Lord this Christmas in any one of the Heatons Churches.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Schools worker project launched PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pete Edwards

In 2008, after much prayer and discussion, the Heatons Churches Partnership decided to launch the schools worker project by entering into a partnership with Christians in Schools Trust. It was agreed that the Heatons Partnership would buy one of their worker's time for one day a week from September 2008. Initially this was Andrew Phillips. The role was to continue to develop the work already started in the schools. The worker would be supported and accountable to a management group set up by the Heatons Partnership.

In Oct 2010 we decided to increase the number of days from 1 to 2 per week. To facilitate this we worked with the trust to employ a new worker called Linda Lanigan and she has now fully taken over the work Andrew started.

The project was launched and celebrated with a special commissioning service held at Heaton Moor Methodist Church on Sunday September 14th 2008.

The project is being financed by individual Christians and Churches in the Heatons.

The Management Team
